VEGAS 650 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION'S

What is the VEGAS 650?
The VEGAS 650 is a weekend motorcycle event that starts in Los Angeles, CA and rides to Las Vegas, NV. This event is an awareness and fundraising event for the Patricia Manning Foundation. Proceeds from this event will be granted to organizations in the fight against prostate cancer. To learn all of the event details, please review THE EVENT page.
How much does it cost to participate in the VEGAS 650?
The registration fee is $30 and there is a minimum fundraising commitment of $850 for a team of two or $500 for an individual. By paying the registration fee and fundraising the minimum, each member of the team or the individual will receive:
    • Two nights accommodations (double occupancy for teams, single occupancy for the individual) at the Circus Circus Hotel & Casino
    • Two breakfast buffets at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino
    • Gear transportation to Las Vegas and back to Los Angeles
    • A VEGAS 650 event t-shirt
    • Saturday Fun Pass to the Las Vegas BikeFest
    • Additional incentives to be announced as the event nears
My spouse and I want to participate, do we both need to register?
Simply register as a team.
What happens to the money that I fundraise?
The money that you fundraise for the VEGAS 650 goes directly to the Patricia Manning Foundation. The Foundation will grant all proceeds of the VEGAS 650 to organizations that work in the fight against prostate cancer.
What additional costs will I incur during the VEGAS 650?
You will be responsible for all personal entertainment, meals not included in the event package, and fuel for the duration of the event.
What happens if I do not fundraise the minimum amount?
If you have not raised your minimum by the time of the VEGAS 650, you have an option to participate in the event. You must first leave a credit card number at the time when you check-in at the event. You will have 30 days after the event to complete your fundraising minimum. If you still have not completed your fundraising at that time, your credit card will be charged the difference of the money you have raised and the minimum.
What if I am having trouble fundraising?
Be sure to read through the FUNDRAISING page on this website and utilize the suggestions we give to you. If you are still having trouble, please call us so that we can try to help you through the process and give you additional suggestions.
What is the schedule for registration and fundraising?
The most important date to remember for the VEGAS 650 is Friday, September 5, 2008. In order to guarantee your hotel room for the weekend you must be registered and have met your minimum fundraising commitment of $500 by this day. You may register and fundraise for the VEGAS 650 up until Friday, October 3 the event start date. However, after Friday, September 5, 2008, we can not guarantee where you may stay.
What hotel will we be staying at?
The VEGAS 650 is currently negotiating with multiple hotels to determine the one that best suits its needs. We can ensure that the hotel chosen will be located on the Las Vegas strip.
Will I be able to choose my own roommate?
Yes, you will be able to choose your own roommate, please make this request on the registration form.
Can my non-participating family or friends stay with me?
You will be given a room mate for the event. If you want additional people to stay in your room, please be considerate of your room mate when making these arrangements. Any hotel costs as a result of additional individuals in the room will be at the participants expense.
Can I stay in a different hotel?
You may stay in any hotel you like at your own cost. The VEGAS 650 will only cover the cost of the room for those staying in the designated hotel.
Do I have to ride to Las Vegas as a part of the group or can I ride myself?
You may ride by yourself if you choose, but be aware that the opening ceremony is a great part of the event and overall experience. Also, be aware that to enjoy the benefits of the entire event weekend, you must check-in at the event itself. If you ride to Las Vegas alone, be sure to check-in at the hotel.
Do I need to carry my own gear?
No, the VEGAS 650 will make arrangements to carry your gear for you and you will pick it up at the hotel upon arriving in Las Vegas if you so choose.
What do I need to bring with me?
A recommended packing list will be provided prior to the event.
Do I have to wear a helmet?
You must obey all traffic laws that apply to the state you are riding in.
How many riders are expected to participate?
Due to the availability of hotel rooms, the 2008 VEGAS 650 event cannot guarantee space for more than 800 people. This event is a first come first served event.
